Alumina Fiber - Of Andalusite Composite Material Preparation And Research

Taking the andalusitc imported from South Africa and alumina fiber Produced by LuoyangInstitute of Refractory Research as raw materials, and adding polyvinyl and aluminum sulphateas binder respectively, through dispersion, degassing,compression molding process andsintering at several elevated temperatures, samples of the composites with different contents offibor were made. Through the measurement of mechanical properties and by the means ofanalysis of X-ray diffraction, OM and SEM, we have studied the fabrication and characterizationof aluntina fiber-andalusite composite.In this paper we research the influence of sintering temperature and fiber contents onproducts' compare the functions of two binders. at the same time, get the law of fiber and matrix.According to microscopical analysis, it is observed that fibers damage and andalusite growsmullite.
