Development of low damage 、low tar and high aroma of tobacco is the challenge for the cigarette industry in China.Cigarette flavoring can not only cover the mixed gas, also can tackle the problem of insufficient flavor after reducing harmful componets in the smoke, and make the smoke smell good, so can promote the quality of the cigarette. There are many technologys of cigarette flavoring, including adsorption flavored technology with the advantages of low cost, convenient, effective and controllable, which is one of the hot spot of research.So we studied the porous solid adsorbent material, which can be added in cigarette filter.It can not only add flavorbut also controlthe release offlavor, and be helpful for storage. 2-Cyclopentenone is a kind of volatile liquid flavoring substances, with strong aroma, adding in cigarettes which can improve cigarette flavor.This paper studied the adsorption propertyof four kinds of porous materials for 2-cyclopentenone. The research results showed that 2-cyclopentenone on the four kinds of materials’ adsorption quantity order was MCM-41 > SY-1 > montmorillonite > aluminum silicate, and the pore volume of material was bigger, the greater of 2-cyclopentenone’s adsorbing capacity on the material. Then this paper studied the four kinds of material for retention rate of 2-cyclopentenone. The results showed that the retention rate of 2-cyclopentenone on material’s order was SY-1 > MCM-41 > montmorillonite >aluminum silicate. And 2-cyclopentenone on material’s activation energy of desorptionwas bigger and the stronger of their bonding force, the greater of their retention rate.Which should be notice that 2-cyclopentenone is volatility and lost a lot of amount at low temperature, not good for storage and influencing its industrial application.This paper used impregnation method with hydrochloric acid solution to modify activated carbon, in order to increase the bonding force between 2-cyclopentenone and the surface of material. The results showed thatthe acid groups on the surface of the activated carbon content is increased after modifying with hydrochloride acid, and specific surface area and pore volume increased, and activation energy of desorption of2-cyclopentenone on material increasd, and retention rate reached to 90%, increased by 20%.This paper used method of modifying with ozone/sulfuric acid solution to modifyactivated carbon. The results showed that the acidic content\specific surface area\porevolume on the material surface, and the retention rate and activation energy of desorption of 2-cyclopentenone on activated carbon, all increased after modifying with Ozone/sulfuric acid solution. But unlike the hydrochloric acid modification, surface functional groups and the types of adsorption sites on the surface of activated carbon increasd using the ozone modification. The retention rate of 2-cyclopentenone on modified materials was 96%. It can laid a solid foundation for the study of new slow-release materials’ industrial application.This paper studied the application of materials in the cigarette filter. After the adsorption of 2-cyclopentenone, we added the sample materials into cigarette filter, and then measured the release content and release rate of 2-cyclopentenone on material in mainstream flue gas of cigarette after combustion of cigarette. The results showed thatthe release rate of 2-cyclopentenone on porous material is very high, above 70%. The adsorption quantity、retention rate and release rateof 2-cyclopentenone on modified material all reached the requirement of this research subject.
