In this article, we prepared the PVC composites with excellent performance, using PVC resin and the inorganic nanoparticles as the ultraviolet shielding modifier. PVC material with high uv shielding performance is the demands of the development situation of PVC in China. Firstly we chose and optimized the silane coupling agent modified nanoparticles process conditions by single factor experiment and orthogonal experiment. The nanoparticles after modified under the best conditions for modification were added to the PVC matrix by means of solution blending. The results of SEM, particle size distribution and FIIR analysis showed that the modified nanoparticles dispersed evenly in the PVC, and the best adding proportion is 3%, which made PVC film the best tensile properties and uv shielding performance. Adding modified Zn O nanoparticles and nanometer Ti O2 into PVC matrix, we obtained different PVC composites. After characterizatied PVC composites,we found the particles dispersed more evenly in the matrix. This was mainly due to that the Zn O combined with Ti O2 by electrostatic force and van der Waals force, which reduced the reunion of particles, improving the tensile properties and uv shielding performance of the PVC material.In addition, Zn O had a role of synergistic flame retardant, the oxygen index of materials was also significantly increased. The experimental results showed that when added a ratio of 1:3 for the nanometer Ti O2 particles and nanometer Zn O particles, the performance of materials achieved the best. Further study on the interaction of Ti O2 and Zn O, the home-made Zn O nanorods are added to the PVC instead of commercial Zn O nanoparticles. We found that composite particles could block the segment motion of PVC chain, thus improved the tensile properties and thermal stability of materials, and the well dispersed composite particles also improved significantly the ability of uv shielding material, and slow down the aging process of the material.
