With the development of aviation, high‐speed trains, rail transportation, shipbuilding, electrical and other manufacturing industries, processing of industrial aluminum production has been rapid development in recent years. Industrial aluminum is made by aluminum alloy bar after heating, extrusion molding. It has the advantages of light weight, high strength characteristics, so it can be widely applied in industrial production.Extrusion machine is the key equipment for aluminum processing. At present the aluminum extrusion machine transmission mode is hydraulic transmission(pump direct drive). The production of aluminum extrusion machine, control the most important parameter is the extrusion speed. The influence of extrusion speed control precision on the quality and performance of products is very large, there may lead to waste. This paper takes 60 MN double action reverse aluminum extrusion machine as an example, introduces in detail the control system of the extruder, and the control system of high precision control problem of extrusion velocity, presents the detailed solution.Electrical control system takes the programmable controller(PLC) as the main controller, uses IPC+WinCC as upper man‐machine interface control(HMI). In terms of reliability, process automation control, process change and the parameter input, shorten the automatic cycle can achieve the best working conditions etc.. With the aid of HMI and the programmable controller in real time communication, can collect all parameters of extrusion machine production line in the work process, the realization of automatic parameter online management, regulation, and can input various parameters by HMI, adjusting the extrusion production line of all kinds of working state.Extrusion speed low use of variable pump and the proportional valve joint control, and by the real‐time feedback displacement / velocity sensor speed, so as to realize the speed closed‐loop control at low speed; extrusion speed is high, by the proportional variable pump directly through the cartridge valve control of the main piston speed, by highly sensitivity to proportional variable pump, precision control can realize speed. According to different process requirements, can be set arbitrarily extrusion speed and real‐time adjustment of the various movements, and can speed monitoring on the host computer and online modify the extrusion process.In short, the control system is reliable, in the actual production process application of good stability, high production efficiency, great to meet the demand of production of industrial aluminum profiles.
