Styrene-acrylic emulsion has some advantages,such as no pollution, easy film at room temperature and simple construction,so it is important in the field of emulsion. In this paper, the study actuality at home and abroad of styrene-acrylic emulsion adhesives’ preparation and modification were reviewed. Then on the basis of predecessors’ research, through continuous polymerization, made the modified organosilicone styrene acrylic emulsion. This chemical test took styrene,n-butyl acrylate,2-ethylhexyl acrylate, n-Methylol acrylamide and acrylicacid as main monomers,dodecyl benzenesulfonic acid,octyl phenoxy poly ethoxy as emulgators,ammonium persulfate as initiator,sodium bicarbonate as buffer agent. This chemical test researched the aggregation process,the quantity and proportion of emulgator, proportion of soft and hard monomers and the speed of stir to the property of styrene-acrylic emulsion. The best conditions of experiment is following. The aggregation process was continuous polymerization, the quanitity of emulgator was 3%, the proportion of negative ion and positive ion emulgator was 1:1.5, the proportion of hard and soft monomers was 1:2, the temperature of polymerization was 80-85℃, the speed of stir was 300r/min. Though the test of conventional performance, fourier transform infrared spectrum, X-ray diffractometer, granulometer, thermogravimetric analyzer and electrochemical workstation, and contact angle tester to characterize the emulsion.Then on the basis of preparation of styrene acrylic emulsion, this chemical test took ethylene glycol as hydrolysis inhibitors, γ-methacryloxy propyl trimethoxyl silane(KH-570), silane, ethenyltrimethoxy(A-171) and octamethyl cyclotetrasiloxane(D4) as modifier. Though these made the modified organosilicone styrene-acrylic emulsion. And this chemical test studied the quantity and proportion of organo silicone modifier to the property of modified organosilicone styrene-acrylic emulsion. And the contrast of single modification and composite modification was studied. Based on the experimental conditions of styrene acrylic emulsion, the best conditions of experiment is following. The quantity of organo silicone modifier was 6%,and the ratio of γ-methacryloxy propyl trimethoxyl silane, silane, ethenyltrimethoxy and octamethyl cyclotetrasiloxane was 1:2:1. Fourier transform infrared spectrum, X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, granulometer, thermogravimetric analyzer and electrochemical workstation were used to determine that the modifier organic silicon has been grafted onto the styrene acrylic emulsion, the crystal type of emulsion has not changed,compared to the styrene-acrylic emulsion and the modification of organic silicone of styrene-acrylic emulsion, the results show the laster’s thermal stability of hydrophobic and corrosion resistance has enhanced obviously.Lastly, under the existing formula, though adding organic fluorine(six fluorine butyl methacrylate) and organic silicone to collectively modified styrene acrylic emulsion, and the organic fluorine was separately added into the styrene acrylic emulsion to modify it. And this chemical test studied the quantity of organic fluorine to the effect of the emulsion. And the amount of the organic fluorine was 0.4%. Fourier transform infrared spectrum, X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, granulometer, thermogravimetric analyzer and electrochemical workstation were used to determine that the modified emulsion performance was better than before modification, and the best emulsion is modification of organic silicon and organic fluoride styrene acrylic emulsion.
