Phthalic acid esters(PAEs) is a widely used industrial compounds, mainly used in change plastic plasticity, PAEs can release into the environment and be enriched in vivo over time, and produce a lot of side effects. PAEs pollution has become a hot issue, the harm to humans is also increasing concern. This paper studied 14 PAEs in three media content of the water, surface sediments and aquatic of the Pearl River estuary, we also studied pollution levels in the Pearl River estuary area.We combined four acute toxicity of PAEs substance of M.terminalis, and evaluate the exposure. In May 2014,the monomer content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in the water of every sampling point is ND~5.050 μg/L, while the average content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in the water of every sampling point is 0.044 μg/L~0.511 μg/L in May 2014, and the total content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in the water of every sampling point is 0.617 μg/L~7.154 μg/L. In August 2014, the monomer content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in the water of every sampling point is ND~0.721 μg/L, while the average content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in the water of every sampling point is 0.025 μg/L~0.105 μg/L in May 2014,and the total content of these 14kinds of PAEs in the water of every sampling point is 0.348 μg/L~1.473 μg/L. This study shows that: the total amount of the Pearl River Estuary in water body of 14 kinds of PAEs obviously changes with the seasons. In 2013 and May 2014,the monomer content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in surface sediments of every sampling point is ND~2.914 μg/g, while the total content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in surface sediments of every sampling point is 1.094 μg/g~4.770 μg/g. In 2013 and August 2014 the monomer content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in surface sediments of every sampling point is ND~3.167 μg/g, while the total content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in surface sediments of every sampling point is 0.506 μg/g~2.700 μg/g. This study shows that: the total amount of the Pearl River Estuary in surface water body of 14 kinds of PAEs obviously changes with the seasons. The content of PAEs in the Pearl River Estuary in surface sediments is lower, and obviously changes with the seasons. The content in May 2013 and May 2014 is higher that in August 2013 and August 2014. From 2012 to 2014 the overall upward trend. The monomer content of these 14 kinds of PAEs in 32 kinds of aquatic is ND~6.683 μg/g,while the total content of these 14 kinds of PAEs is 0.251 μg/g~15.229 μg/g.The content of ∑PAEs in Pelteobagrus fulvidraco is the highest(15.559 μg/g), The content of ∑PAEs in Macrobrachium rosenbergii(De Man) is the lowest(0.251 μg/g) The content of PAEs in aquatic vivo samples in the Pearl River estuary islower than those in other areas. The results showed that:the total content of 14 kinds of PAEs in three media areas in the Pearl River Estuary is:biological samples> sediment> water samples. This study has carried out four kinds of acute toxicity which were about the PAEs compounds act on Magalobrame Tarminalis(Herre at Myers), the results showed that: the LC50 in 48 h of DBP, DMP, DEHP, DEP in Magalobrame Tarminalis(Herre at Myers) is 2.410 mg/L、4.120 mg/L、6.150 mg/L、6.840 mg/L;and the safety concentration is 0.550 mg/L, 0.790 mg / L, 1.620 mg/L, 2.000 mg/L;the order of 4 kinds of PAEs toxicity is DBP> DMP> DEHP>DEP. And the death rate of different concentrations of four kinds of PAEs compounds act on Magalobrame Tarminalis(Herre at Myers) has a significant impactObtained by calculating that the risk of exposure index(ERI) of aquatic animals in the Pearl River Estuary DEHP were ERIMIN(0.25×10-3)-ERIMAX(0.35×10-1) and ERIMIN(0.33×10-3)-ERIMAX(0.47×10-1), the contact exposure index is much less than 1, so the amount of adult DEHP intake of 66.6 g/d aquatic exposure does not pose a health risk.so the amount of DEHP does not pose a health risk when adult intake of 66.6 g/d aquatic products.
