As fabric applied in more fields, such as game animation, film and television entertainment, CAD/CAM and e-commerce, how to simulate fabric realistically and quickly becomes a challenging subject of computer graphics research. In addition, due to the complexity of the simulation for the real wind field, simulation of fabric in the wind is quite difficult, therefore, how to choose the suitable fabric model and build a realistic virtual wind field is of great importance.Firstly, in order to realize the dynamic effect of polymorphous fabric, the key is to build a suitable fabric structure. Leading in equilateral triangle mesh for the simulation of the uniform distribution fabric, then discrete weight of the fabric to the vertices of the triangle, simulate different material of the fabric by adjusting the weight of each vertex. Using any graphic tools to create a variety of the shape of fabric, collect all kinds of common objects in 3d model through the Internet, adopt Delaunay triangulation method to divide polymorphic fabric into meshed automatically. Making full use of the stability of the triangle to avoid fabric jitter in motion simulation.Secondly, introduce an aerodynamic model of the wind to discrete the force of wind into fabric particle, realize fabric simulation in the wind field; By adding the fractal noise to the wind force to generate random wind that interact with fabric; Using visual control panel to control the size and direction of the wind field to enhance interactive; Add the visual control panel for choosing fabric, create a library of fabric and model.Thirdly, use adaptive enclosing ellipsoid to attach the fabric to the 3d model. Dynamic analysis was carried out on the fabric in wind field. Newton Second Law is applied to analyze force and get motivation equation of the mass. Via comparison among common integration methods, we choose Verlet method which is fast and has good stability. Instead of using engineering strain, the method of Lagrange strain can solve the hyper elastic problems; Realize dynamic effects of the fabric which attached to the model by adding collision detection in wind field.Finally, Under Windows platforms, using C + + language and open graphics interface Open GL achieved fabric real-time simulation in the controllable random wind field.Experiment results show that, the method presented in this paper can simulate all kinds of fabrics flow in wind fields with force and direction controllable. The simulation effect is exquisite, lifelike and this system can satisfy requisitions of real-time and realistic fabric simulation.
