This dissertation aims at a special deep hole drilling machine for drilling the circular mould. To research and improve the static and dynamic and thermal characteristics of the spindle, based on ANSYS, optimization designed and made an experimental modal analysis. The contributions of this dissertation are listed as follows:1. The FEM analysis of spindle of SKH gundrill machine was made. The deformation and stress contour of the spindle box were given. And the inherent frequencies and vibration modes were given. The response analysis of the spindle was done and the peak value of dynamic response was given. The thermal analysis was done and the temperature field and the heat balance time and thermal stress and deformation were given.2. An optimization design for spindle and spindle box were made. The spindle structure on three directions and the weight were optimized. After optimization, the inherent frequency of the first spectral increased, the model volume and maximal deformation and stress reduced. And an optimization design for the thickness of the spindle box was made. Curve of max stress and deformation along with the width were given. The structure optimization of thermal characteristics of spindle was carried, compared with the original design, deformation and stress of thermal were decreased.3. A modal testing of the spindle was carried. The excitation and response signals were given by the hammering method. The dynamic balance grade of spindle were improved by weight removal of the tool holder. The dynamic performance specification and the frequency spectrum analysis at the rated speed were got on the running spindle by a vibration analysis instrument, and verify with the simulation results. The results of experiment and theory analysis were anastomotic, which proved that the method of this research was useful. This dissertation provided an effective basis for the further dynamic study and the development of integrated dynamic characteristic.
