China’s Anshan type lean hematite has a large storage but disseminats fine in particle size, so using anionic reverse flotation technology the micro- fine grained iron minerals are seriously lost. By taking Sijiaying Ore as research object to carry out theoretical research of the interaction between magnetite and hematite mixed flotation,it has a certain theoretical and practical guiding significance to improve the comprehensive utilization of micro-fine hematite resources. With application of anionic collector GK- 68 and inhibitors starch, the pure mineral and artificial mixed minerals flotation separation test of magnetite, hematite and quartz are carried out. The single mineral flotation tests find that GK-68’s collecting effect on magnetite is significantly better than that of hematite magnetite, and starch’s inhibitory effect on hematite is much better than that of magnetite. Under the combined effects of CaO and starch, the inhibitory effect of magnetite is not good so that its flotation effect is worse than hematite.Artificial mixed mineral flotation tests find that concentrate and tailings iron grade are increasing with the increase of magnetite content. In the flotation test of artificial mixed mineral in which magnetite content is 51.41%, adding starch alone, a part of iron minerals is lost with foam products, and under the combined effects of CaO and starch, the inhibitory effect on magnetite and hematite is enhanced so the content of iron minerals is increasing gradually.Based on the tests, the mechanism of interaction between minerals is explored by means of contact angle, the electric potential, adsorption and infrared spectroscopy. Adsorption of GK-68 on surface of hematite and magnetite are chemisorption, and the adsorption degree relations are magnetite> hematite> quartz.Adsorption of starch on surface of hematite and magnetite are chemisorption and it also has the effect of hydrogen bond. The relations of starch inhibitory effect on the three kinds of mineral are hematite >magnetite >quartz. The comprehensive analysis shows that in flotation systems of anionic collector GK-68 and under GK-68’s strong collecting effect and starch’s weak inhibitory effect, magnetite has better flotation performance than hematite and it is seriously lost in tailings, so it has a great influence on the results of anionic reverse flotation separation of hematite.
