With the development of automobile industry, BIW welding line is gradually tend to be totally automated, the automobile production enterprises have gradually increased their requirement, automatic system can both ensure the safety of production and improve production efficiency.This paper designs a system with ControlLogix to control the welding production line. We use PLC as the core of the control system, Ethernet/IP and DeviceNet as the control network. This flexible welding line can product different models at the same time.The research works are summarized as following.(1) This paper introduces the software, conttrologixand I/O modul. include RSLogix5000, FactoryTalk View Studio RSLinx. and RSNetworx for DeviceNet.(2) Determine the control network architecture according to the composition and process of BIW welding line.The site equipment and HMI communicate with PLC both through DeviceNet, PLC and PC communicate with PLC through Ethernet/IP.(3) Configure the network drive, design the PLC program and monitor display.This control system met all requirements, monitoring the welding line in real time.
