The horizontal well is the special well in which the maximum deviation angle is maintained at about 90°or so, and a certain length of the horizontal well section is remained in the target layer. The most important feature is to increase the length of the borehole and drain area in the producing layer. There are a variety of errors with the azimuth-deviation logging while drilling. The evaluation of azimuth accuracy is still based on gyroscope measurement. Only if the wellbore trajectory information such as inclination and azimuth is accurately inspected, can the true length and horizontal displacement be accurately calculated, thus can the productivity evaluation be guided. The study of the horizontal wellbore trajectory logging technology include: horizontal wellbore trajectory logging technology, solving software technology and development of the horizontal wellbore trajectory logging tool prototype.In view of the above problems, the horizontal wellbore trajectory logging technology and solving software are discussed and studied, which is the supportive supporting project for developing horizontal wellbore trajectory logging tool. The mathematical model of azimuth calculation for the horizontal well is established and the azimuth calculation method is studied. The master control software of the horizontal wellbore trajectory logging tool is designed and developed and the field test is completed. The azimuth inspection in the horizontal well is realized for the first time in the wellbore trajectory inspection at home and abroad. Based on the measurement and solving software, the horizontal wellbore trajectory logging tool adopts two flexible gyros with dual sensing axial and three accelerometers that are used as the sensor of the azimuth tool to inspect the acceleration due to gravity and earth’s rotation angular velocity component of the three axes respectively. According to the above parameters, the wellbore trajectory information such as inclination angle, azimuth angle, directional angle and tool face angle can be calculated, at the same time, the directional angle of casing failure can be provided for other engineering logging tools.
