Crude oil inspection of import and export is an important content of the entry-exit inspection, identification and supervision. In the inspection and appraisal of crude oil imported from Russia, GB standard was used in China, while ГОCТ standard was used in Russia. Due to the test standard was different,it may be caused some differences of the detection results, which would lead to a trade dispute. Four important quality inspection items including water content, sulfur content, mechanical impurities content and chloride content of crude oil were selected. ГОCТ standard, GB standard, ISO standard and ASTM standard were compared to find out the specific differences of standards in crude oil and discuss the cause of different detection results. The comparative results suggested that four test items were different in many ways, such as the scope of application, experimental instruments, operational methods and precision in the national standard and international standards. The data of four inspection items were analyzed between China and Russia in 2013 and conducted statistical analysis by using t test in SPSS software. Statistical analysis results showed that there were significant differences in the water content, sulfur content, mechanical impurities content and chloride content between China and Russia. The results of water content and mechanical impurities of crude oil using GB standard were higher than that of using ГОCТ standard, 28% and 7.5%, respectively, while the results of sulfur and chlorine salt content were lower, 3.4% and 12%, respectively. The differences between ГОCТ standard and GB standard would result in the deviation in crude oil imported from Russian, which could trigger the trade disputes of crude oil between China and Russia. The findings would provide theoretical support and experimental basis for the maintenance of the economic interests of the state and the settlement of trade negotiations and disputes in the international crude oil. It suggested that common inspection standard of crude oil should be worked out as soon as possible between China and Russia.
