Innovative Applications Research Of Traditional Cloud-pattern In Modern Fashion Design

Traditional cloud-pattern is one of pattern common seen in Chinese traditionalauspicious patterns, which plays a very important role in Chinese decoration history.Through thousands of years’ development and evolution, the cloud-pattern, with itsrich and various form feature and unique artistic charm, shows Chinese people’s greatcreativity to transform natural phenomena into artistic images.Cloud-patternsymbolizes pleasure and fortune, and with deep culture connection, it embodiesChinese special culture spirit of flowing grace and inner humanity. The application oftraditional pattern to modern clothing design is not only a way to inherit Chinesetraditional culture but also a practical research on the application modern clothing.Theprinciple clue of this paper is the historical development of cloud pattern, and thispaper analyzes and summarizes the types and language features of cloud-pattern indifferent historical period, and application rules in traditional clothing from threeaspects: decorative layout, color feature and art performance. Then this paperemphasizes the research on the application principle and innovation method inmodern clothing design by analyzing related picture information and experiments onsample fabric.
