Flax was first discovered and used for textile. It is regarded as green textiles because of itshygroscopic, permeability, bacteriostatic and skin-friendly. It always represents a delicate lifevalue for the development of flax fabric and the fashion design of clothing. It will involve thetreatment of flax fiber, the development of fabric, the dyeing and finishing process and thepattern design. In this paper, the classical satin drill fabric was improved by the blended yarnswith cotton and enzyme treated flax. It was focused on the air-jet weaving technology ofblended-weft fabrics with different linear density, surface performance and elastic. And theirmechanical properties were also measured.First of all, basic performance of the blended yarns with cotton and enzyme treated flax wastested. The result showed that the breaking strength and elongation of flax C fiber is the highest.27.67tex70/30cotton/enzyme treated flax blended yarns (spun by flax C) was better than19.37tex50/50cotton/enzyme treated flax blended yarns (spun by flax B) in breaking strength,breaking elongation, evenness, hairiness and yarn quality. These yarns all meted therequirements of weaving.Secondly, the warp yarns of a new satin drill fabric still used pure cotton, its weft yarns usedtwo kinds of yarns with different linear density different linear density, surface performance andelastic. Fabric weaves are a5-shaft satin with3progression. The fabrics were still designed byhigh warp density. GA121(A) high-speed warping machine and GA308sizing machine withdouble sizing boxes for layering sizing and layering drying were used in the preparing process.The warp sizing qualities were controlled as11%~12%sizing rate,7%moisture and0.8%elongation rate and met the weave requirements.Thirdly, two kinds of blended-weft fabric by C/L blended yarn were designed in this paper.They were woven on the air-jet loom. When two kinds of weft with different linear density,surface performance and elastic insertion traction were different and the air jet time and airpressure of the sub-nozzles were constant, the air jet time and air pressure of the main-nozzles were discussed. It was effective for weft yarns with large linear density, or smooth surface, orgood elastic that the main-nozzle are opened early and closed delay.Finally, fabrics performance which includes elastic and bending stiffness, drapecoefficient, crease recovery angle was tested. The constant load elongation in weft direction withelastic is9.8%. It is called as low elastic fabric. The two fabrics are consistent to the classicalsatin drill fabric with cotton in bending stiffness, drape coefficient, and crease recovery angle.Compared with ordinary cotton/linen fabric, they have smaller in bending stiffness and drapecoefficient and bigger in crease recovery angle.
