Design is a purposeful and systematic activity, which concretizes human needs into thetangible. Its systematic process is rule-based. Lots of designers summarized design experiencethrough studying, training and ruminating. Formulism design models can direct designers to makeconcretization of human needs faster and better, which helps create a better life through design.Chapter one of the paper introduces the sense and relevant research status of transformationfrom user needs into design requirements. It can be concluded that although intension of needsremains unchangeable, its epitaxial dynamic has changed. First, with the development of societyand technology, the environment which loads design has changed rapidly. As a kind of cultureform, design has its own temporal spirit, which reflects that the epitaxies of human needs isdynamic. Then, under this big environment, the basic function provided by products cannot meethuman needs. Elements such as individualization and emotion have played an important role indesign nowadays. In other words, different users and environments products used in lead touncertain user needs in design and development process. Design is an activity which can changeenvironment, the dynamic and uncertainty of the whole environment and the design environmentcan directly lead to the difficulty of transformation from user needs into design requirements: userneeds are fuzzy and uncertain.Chapter two introduces function-behavior-structure framework (FBS framework), includingthe FBS framework put forward by Gero and the improvement by Cascini et al. The frameworkhas identified the relationship between user needs and design requirements and pointed out thetransformation process from ‘uses needs’ to ‘design requirements’ in the design processspecifically. FBS framework can be seen as a referential model which can be used to elaborate theearly design processes, and the framework has been studied and improved incessantly during morethan20years. But noticing that it hasn’t considered the fuzzy problem of needs, and it can’t meetthe development of contemporary design.Chapter three focuses on the ‘fuzzy needs’ problem, suggests the ‘stretch limit’ concept andseeks a solution for ‘fuzzy needs’ in design vision with the method of natural interaction. In theearly design processes, a best solution can be get through considering the threshold formed by ‘stretch requirements’ as the scope of design and to make products more intelligent based onnatural human-product interaction to let products interact with human, environment and itself morefluently to realize the function. The realization of natural human-products is through analysis ofcontext and imagination of context awareness of products and finally achieves the ‘transparent’interaction.Chapter four explains and uses FBS framework in a design case of a toy based on naturalinteraction, which guides children to crawl. The design item focuses on children sensoryintegrative dysfunction and hope to promote children’s growth and development through behaviorlearning (mainly crawling) in the early childhood reasonably with interaction of physical form.Chapter five make a summary and prospect. It concludes the main work of this paper andanalyses the deficiencies and the next step for research.
