Study On Wearability Performance Of Coffee Fiber And Its Fabric

In recent 50 years, Chinese people’s living standard has qualitatively increased in respect of clothing, food, housing, transportation and entertainment, especially concerning clothing. Nowadays, the basic requirements of warmth and covering 50 years ago can’t satisfy people for the pursuit of "clothes". In order to response to the international call and close to the theme of "safety, green, environmental protection", people have new requests for basic properties of materials and fabrics.When customers choose clothes, they not only consider beautiful appearance of clothes and solid durable materials, but also begin to pursue for clothes with functions of novel, comfortable, healthy and green environmental. With the development of science and technology, and digital tools being perfectly flexible such as computer, they can not only make plating, cutting, but also analyze the functional characteristics of fabric such as deodorant, antibacterial, and UV-protection. They can analyze advantages and disadvantages of fabrics so that people design clothes and use fabric as reasonable as the advantages of fabrics can be fully present. Based on the good power of science and technology and productivity, professionals in the field of textile and clothing have developed constantly a lot of so-called functional clothes, which are suitable for various environments. In order to closely respond to the call of the theme of "low energy consumption, low pollution, low emission" one new function clothes such as waterproof, anti high temperature, ultraviolet, bacterial, various functional clothes came out one after one, and the latest model is coffee fiber and its fabrics.Coffee fiber is automatically researched, developed and promoted by Taiwan Singtex Industry Co., Ltd. Its fabrics have effects of absorption and quick drying, deodorization, antibacterial, anti UV-protection, warmth and others. Most important of all, it is made from coffee grounds, which are turned into things of value. Coffee fiber is a new type of fiber in recent years, so the prices of clothes made of it are higher with limited market consumption ability and low acceptance. Also researches in related to coffee fiber are less than other natural fiber. All of above lead to that the advantages of coffee fiber are not known by people and no one is willing to buy it. Research and development on the advantages of coffee fiber has an important practical significance to promote the development of market economy.Firstly, based on the structure and basic properties of the fibers, the wearability performance of coffee fiber and its fabrics are researched in this paper,including comfort properties, basic properties and appearance properties. Then, coffee fiber fabrics are compared with cotton fabric and hemp fiber fabric. Finally,comprehensive evaluation and comparison for the three above are made through fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, which offer a lot of theoretical foundation for utilization and development of coffee fiber fabrics and their prospects in the field of clothing.1. The contents of study in the paper are as following:1.1 To research coffee fiber in respect of fiber configuration and physical properties, including length, fineness, morphological structure, strength elongation property, crystallinity, moisture regain, absorption and antistatic property and etc.1.2 To compare coffee fiber with other fibers, and analyze its advantages and the reason.1.3 To make coffee yarn fabric, and to study its wearability in relation to comfortable properties, basic properties and appearance properties.1.4 To compare coffee yarn fabric with other fabrics, and state its advantages and the reason.2. The conclusions of the paper are as following:2.1 Coffee fiber is not suitable for spinning and fabric-making for more short fibers and thinner fineness.2.2 Coffee fiber and its fabrics have excellent functions including absorption and quick dry, deodorization of environmental protection, ultraviolet-proof and antibiosis.2.3 Coffee fabric is suitable for summer clothes and underwear with functions of ventilation, deodorization and antibiosis when wearing. Its ultraviolet-proof function is practical especially in summer.
