The Studies On Safety Design Of Paper Packaging For Food

In modern societies, safety problems of food occur frequently, which agitates people start to investigate the essential causes. As a consequence, one of the problems is safety issues of packaging, such as unsanitary of materials, falsification of packaging, overdue of food. These problems will definitely do harm to people and environment. Food packaging is an important part of food production and indispensable to the safety of food. Paper is one of the four food packaging materials. This paper aims to analyz-es the security of the design of the paper packaging.This paper firstly introduced the concepts of paper packaging and food packaging paper, discovering the safety problems of materials of paper packaging by research and generalizing, making a thorough inquiry of the factors of food paper packaging safety. Furthermore, it explores the requirements of design of safety of paper packaging from three dimensions, including the material, people’s psychological and physiological level and environment. These three levels emphasize the comprehensive security requirements of food paper packaging, which call for designer to take food safety into consideration when they design the packaging.The article proposes apropos strategies for design in accordance with the requirements. For materials, the print and anti-counterfeiting technologies benefit the advanced new food paper packaging. For design, it argues that the appearance of packaging and the sense of touching should look safe and healthy. On the theory of ergonomics, it explicates how the food paper packaging in circulation can be used in safety. On the theory of environmental-friendly design, it refers to the design of reduction, reuse and recycling of food paper packaging.Finally, the author put the design into practice. After research on the fruit packing problem, taking fruits, people and environment into account, finally designed the paper packaging with relative safety, profit for consumers, and frugality for resources and good for environment. It is hopefully expected that the principles of design referred in the paper could be practical for production of food paper packaging.
