Non-contact tool measurement instrument is a multi-axis measuring instrument, whose design is based on the tool’s appearance and overall shape. According to the design plan, the device needs to design a multi-degree of freedom of the mechanical structure, and to control the motor by controlling the system to meet the industrial CCD camera capable of multi-angle image acquisition of the measuring pieces. Then, using image analysis analyze the acquired images to obtain its parameters and to facilitate research.Control the operation of the motor to drive the industrial CCD camera tool for multi-angle image acquisition, such as the cutting edge, rake angle y, the angle a and the main angle κ and other geometric parameters, using scientific, accurate image processing algorithms to achieve high-precision measurement of the tool, and then to analyze the tool actually by comparing the method. Due to the non-contact tool measurement instrument no contact with the tool, there is no contact force, so the accuracy has been greatly improved, and the measurement error is small, high repeat accuracy. The tool measuring instrument designer cannot only make a more detailed understanding of the various parameters of the tool, and are conducive to a further improvement of the tool.This paper collects various types of domestic and foreign information on tool measuring in strument. By studying the common mechanical structure and summarizing its advantages and di sadvantages, plan out the structure of the tool measuring instrument.By using three-dimensional software to model the structure of non-contact tool measurement instrument and assemble, and to meet the design requirements. Generate a two-dimensional engineering drawings of parts to reachthe processing and production requirements and complete all parts of the production proc-ess. Assembly of the parts, and then adjust the assembly relationship between the various parts and precision to meet the design requirements.Complete the circuit design of the control system to analyzethe feasibility, to meet the control requirements, the use of Altium Designer to peri-pheral circuitry and PCB board design, to complete the PCB board production.
