Cutting-extruding trimming technology offers a new method of forming local precision contour parts, compared with traditional processing methods such as milling and fine blanking, which features high efficiency, low cost and good quality. This paper purports mainly to study the key technology of cutting-extruding trimming for complicated curve parts, and the process mechanism of curve-shaped parts’ cutting-extruding trimming were obtained, a set of specifications forming process parameters were summed up to provide theoretical guidance for profile machining.Firstly, the mechanism of cutting-extruding trimming technology was studied. The trimming was divided into two types: inner concave contours trimming and outer convex contours trimming according to the feature of the curve counter parts. Stress state and strain state of deformation zone were studied. The conclusion that the third deformation zone was the deformation core was obtained, together with the technical parameters which influence the trimming process. Secondly, relevant simulation parameters settings were studied, and Deform-3D software was used to make numerical simulation of the forming process, analyzed trimming force, metal flow, shear sliding mechanism, stress distribution rules and process parameters influence rules for cutting-extruding trimming technology; thirdly, an experimental die was made, physical experiments were carried out and the accuracy of simulation was verified, Based on the analysis of experiment data, the rules which influence the trimming quality were obtained, which provide an effective method to resolve the problem of cutting-extruding trimming for complicated curve parts. Finally, the relationship between parameters, gained the parameters standards on different thickness was summarized.The study shows that main die radius, allowance and the thickness of the material were the key parameters that affect the quality of forming surface. The influence rules between the three parameters to forming quality was systematically studied, and the relationship between parameters at different thickness was established, which provides a high reference value for the forming of curves profile parts.
