In this paper, aiming at the misapplication of the mathematical correction model in X-ray fluorescence analysis, Lucas-Tooth equation was deduced and discussed so as to clear its connotation and general application rules, and establish an effective correction rule. In the case of not establishing special database, it could be rapid corrected that the fluorescence intensity of measured target elements in the sample. By means of the selecting appropriate correction method, Lucas-Tooth equation was applied to the quantitative analysis of Ni and Cu elements in the Jinchuan company’s metallurgical samples, and the satisfactory results were obtained. This study has a certain guiding significance to the analysis in practical work.
