Under the background of the increasingly prominent risk of science and technology as well as the increasingly serious global ecological crisis, with the further development of science and technology, we human beings are not only enjoying all kinds of convenience brought about by science and technology, but also are facing the unprecedented ecological threat such as global warming, food crisis, energy depletion, desertification, biodiversity loss, nuclear pollution and so on in a larger extent. As the world’s most populous country, with the fast efficient development of industry and agriculture and other aspects, the problems of our country’s ecological environment are causing wide public concern over the world and our society. As an important symbol of the all-round development of human society, ecological civilization is a new kind of civilization, which not only covers both the relationship between man and nature and the relationship between human and nature, but also links to material civilization and spiritual civilization and political civilization closely. The construction of ecological civilization is the newest creative theory achievement of the communist party of China’s when answering the conflict between economic development and resources environment, and points out the direction of how to gain the harmonious development of man and nature. Ecological civilization construction has become the party’s governing idea and statecraft. Therefore, promoting the ecological civilization construction in China greatly is very important.Ecological Marxism produced in the worldly influential "green movement" during 1960s. As one of the important emerging genre of contemporary western Marxism, it is also an active growing point of the contemporary western Marxism. Under the background of human survival and development facing serious ecological dilemma, the basic starting point of ecological Marxism is to supply and develop the theory of Marxism by using ecology theory, in order to construct a new mode of harmonious development of man and nature. Overall, it is for the purpose of the study of human survival environment, with ecological effect as the core. It also pursuits the harmonious development of human and nature. All together, it opens up us a new field of vision into the problem of capitalism and socialism, with not only theoretical but also practical significance.For over 30 years of reform and opening-up policy, under the guidance of Marxist theory, along with the unceasing enhancement of industrialization and modernization level, China has made remarkable achievements in the field of economy. On the one hand, the original ecological environment problems in the western developed capitalist countries have appeared in China; On the other hand, the system of Ecological Marxism theory is greatly aimed at solving the ecological destruction and environmental problems caused by the long-term development of the western capitalist countries, the industrialization and modernization of which were already completed in the early 1980s, while China is still in the middle of industrialization and modernization; Therefore, we can draw lessons from the theory achievements and political values of ecological Marxism, and at the same time reject the part which is not suitable for China’s reality. In addition, the author thinks that the profound logical and scientific feature which is rich in the study of ecological Marxism in order to solve the problem of reality is of great importance so that we can learn something from it.Totally, it should be pointed out that the author’s theoretical basis lies in as follows:(a) The key point of the transition from industrial civilization to ecological civilization and ecological civilization construction is to constraint and regulate human behavior. That is to say, we should make limits on our human beings’ action. The upper and lower limits of ecological civilization construction should keep in a reasonable range, which should keep balance between the global economic development level and human survival environmental conditions. At the same time this range should adopt double standards. It means the upper limit of the ecological civilization construction of the developing countries can not at the expense of stagnation and that the lower limit of the ecological civilization construction of the developed countries can’t threat the balance of human survival environment, (b) In modern society, there exists two kinds of system in order to constraint and regulate human behavior, ethical and legal system. This ethical and legal system can also be abstracted as concept and system simply.(c) As response to the practice of the western developed capitalist countries’ecological civilization, ecological Marxism is of great significance for the ecological civilization construction of China; (d) The construction of ecological civilization of China which is dominated by the government needs the participation and actions of all citizens.
