With the rapid development of national economy and the rapid growth of population in the world,followed by the increasing depletion of the natural environment, the shortage of urban water resources and pollution has become one of the most serious environmental problems. It not only seriously affected the people’s production and health, but also restrict the sustainable development of China’s economy. In this case, we must take steps to increase the urban sewage monitoring efforts to improve the deteriorating urban environment. However, the traditional means of monitoring urban sewage is no longer able to meet the needs of the modern environmental monitoring and information management, thus building automation, intelligent, network monitoring municipal sewage system is imperative.For the inadequacies of existing municipal sewage monitoring tools, this article Zig Bee technology applied in monitoring urban sewage, proposed a monitoring system base d on WSN. Firstly, the monitoring system was studied in this paper. On this basis, a d etailed analysis of the structure and key technologies of the system, designed for urban sewage monitoring WSN wireless gateway node. The node hardware section uses an int egrated MCU+RF transceiver chip SOC design, select CC2530 radio chip as its micro processor and wireless communication module. Secondly, studied the IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee 2007 standard protocol, designed for wireless gateway node software part of urb an sewage monitoring, and using API function ZigBee 2007 stack to complete the form ation of the ZigBee network and data transmission, through AT commands control GPR S module for remote transmission of data.After the completion of the hardware and software design of the wireless gatewaynode, building a small platform in laboratory. Respectively, the building network, ZigBee communication quality and GPRS transmission were tested for wireless network gateway node. Test results show that:the designed wireless gateway node can achieve the transmission of data between sensor nodes and remote monitoring center. Hardware and software can meet the requirements of system application, structural design is reasonable, the system is stable and reliable.
