Fiber-Metal Laminates is studied as a promisry composite with excellent mechanical properties. It combines the good properties of fiber/resin composites and metallic materials-high damage tolerance, fatigue resistance, impact resistance and other advantages.Based on composite classical laminate theory, I studied residual stress between layers of fiber metal laminates with the help of ANSYS finite element analysis software.I firstly, established a simplified model of Fiber-Metal Laminates to analyze residual stress between layers when fiber metal laminate is under two-dimensional state, made sine and cosine series expansion to the normal stress and shear stress of the residual stress, reached the series solution of interlaminar stresses, using the minimum work principle. On this basis, I deduced three-dimensional expression of interlaminar stresses; at the same time, I used the finite element analysis to model the fiber metal laminates, simulating the laminate processing temperature and mechanical environment, meshing, getting solution of the model, got the computer simulation results of interlaminar stresses of fiber metal laminate. In order to verify the simulation results, several fiber metal laminate composites were made to calculate the interlaminar stresses. And the simulation results are confirmed accurate. The metal layer of Fiber-Metal Laminates became plastic deformation due to the laminate stress and external loading, resulting in change of mechanical constitutive relation when the metal laminate is in the plastic zone. In order to accurately characterize the mechanical properties of fiber metal laminates under such circumstances, I established different simplified models of medal laminates, obtained constitutive relations of mechanical properties of fiber metal laminate when the metal part is in the plastic zone. This research studied the interlaminar stresses of Fiber-Metal Laminates processing and constitutive relation of mechanical properties when Fiber-Metal Laminates is under laminate stress and external loading, which makes the metal part produces plastic deformation, which helps a lot in the preparation of fiber metal laminates.
