Open Numerical Control System Research And Design

Along with the rapid development of our industry,the competition between enterprises is more and more intensifying.In order to win the market, enterprises needs to continuously improve the production efficiency, reduce production cost, improve the quality of there products. The old NC equipment of mechanical processing enterprises are often uses the traditional enclosed CNC system, there exist many disadvantages,just as compatibility is bad, difficult to expand, low precision, lower efficiency etc.. In order to improve the production efficiency and product quality,based on economic consideration,more and more enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises hope through reforming existing backward NC equipment to meet the actual production requirements.This paper based on the market demand, through transforming an old-fashioned CNC milling machine, researched and designed a kind of open CNC system. This system includes both hardware and software, hardware part adopts IPC, DMC-1842 digital movement control card, servo drives and ac servo motor to constructed a kind of half closed loop structure of hardware system. hardware system both economical and practical, has a wide prospect of market. Software part use Visual Basic as development tools, based on the ActiveX control provided by the company who is the manufacturers of the movement control card, we design and implement modular NC software system, the software including movement control card's settings module, status display module, nc code conversion module, simulation module etc., the software design method and the idea is helpful to the end user of CNC system.
