Research On Nc Processing Of Bowl-typed Surface Based On Unigraphics Nx

With the rapid development of our technology productivity and the manufacturing industry, the application of free-form surface, which generally adopts the NC (Numerical Control) processing with automatic programming, is getting more and more widespread. The UG is one of the commonly used CAD/CAM software. In this paper, using NC processing of free-form surface, it is studied on the NC processing of bowl-like surface, which is based on the UG software. The contents are as follows:Under the condition of the UG, it is studied on how to choose the method on rough and fine machining of bowl-like free surface and the processing strategy. The simulation graphics of NC processing bowl-typed surface are formed through UG simulating-blocks, and then the optimal method of NC processing bowl-typed surface is selected out after simulation graphics are compared with the processing parameter.It is also studied on the method of selecting the cutters, their cutting data and other cutting parameters when the bowl-like surface is processed under the UG.It is still studied on the post-processing resetting when bowl-typed surface is being processed in the machining center of the Fanuc Oi CNC system, and then a new post-processing module is created.The NC simulation and practical machining in the workshop show the high effectiveness of the bowel-like surface processing and solve the problem that the traditional NC machining has the character of poor quality and low efficiency.The research result of bowl-like surface of NC processing based on UG is also applied to other similar bowl-typed mould processing, so it is great significant reference to the similar bowl-like shape processing.
