Based On The Developmental Psychology Of Middle Childhood Furniture Design Study

With the foundation and perfection of Developmental Psychology, people's cognition for children is more and more thorough. The level of modern. life is improving and people pay more attention to children's education, so the demands on children furniture is also improving. We need the exact children furniture which fit the developmental features of children's physiology and psychology. Based on children's developmental psychology and combined with the modular design of modern furniture, this kind of application research becomes the major subject of children furniture design. And such study has theoretical and practical implication to children furniture design.This paper is based on the theory of Developmental Psychology and reviews the developmental features of the middle level children. Morever, with the mentioned theory, it will provide more efficient methods for the most suitable children's bedroom furniture design. This research goes as the following stages:In the first place, based on the background and actuality of this study, this paper illustrates the importance of the most suitable children furniture design and makes out the framework of the research. What's more, a lot of relevant literature review makes good preparations for the study of next stage.In the second place, with the relevant theoretical research, this paper analyzes the function of children's bedrooms and the demands on children furniture. Moreover, this paper explores the feasibity of applying modular design to children furniture design and analyzes the deep reasons for the shortages of the design.In the third place, based on the designing principle of products, this paper illustrates the disigning priciples of bedroom furniture for the middle level children. There are mainly four aspects:the principle of practicability, the principle of safety, the enviroment-friendly principle and the sustainable pinciple. And then, this paper explores the application of modular design to furniture design for the middle level children, so that it will meet the demands on the design.Finally, this study goes on to the stage of practical designing and makes the final conclusion.
