White LED is generally recognized as the new generation of source of light because of such features as long service life, high luminous efficiency, energy-conservation and environmental protection, and it will have a wide market and good prospect of development. While white LEDs have been commercialized by combining blue-emitting InGaN chips with yellow-converting YAG phosphors, it is believed that a combination of near-UV or violet-emitting chips with tri-color phosphors may produce white light with higher color-rendering properties. But now there's a lack of highly-efficient phosphorescent powder activated by near ultraviolet excitation.This thesis offers a detailed and comprehensive explanation of the basic principle and study development of White LED Light, luminous mechanism, classification and preparative method of phosphorescent powder. Based on what is discussed above, research is made on the study situation and existing problems of the green phosphorescent powder. The blue phosphorescent powder is based on the materials of BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ synthesized by traditional solid-state reaction. And the detailed study is made on the preparative method and structure decoration of blue phosphorescent powder, with the purpose of improving the luminous efficiency of it once activated by near ultraviolet excitation.1. Through the changes of the density of the activator Eu2+ and solutizer in BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ blue phosphorescent powder, there will be a strong excitation peak at about 395nm and it will be better coupled to the chip of ultraviolet LED. 2. Introduce and adulterate BaCL2 and BaF2, and adjust the density of adulterants. Then it is found that the excitation spectrum of the samples becomes wider and stronger. The position of absorption peak will not change, and the luminous intensity is obviously improved.The result of the experiment shows that the luminous efficiency of the BaMgAl10O17 : Eu2+ blue phosphorescent powder activated by near ultraviolet excitation can be improved by the above ways, which proves that BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ activated by Eu2+ is a very promising blue phosphorescent powder for LED.
