In this study,16 species belonging to 3 families and 12 genera of Acridoidea are studied.These species come from Northeast China.This paper is mainly to analyse chromosome number,type, pattern,C-banding type,sex chromosome ranking,the chromosome relative length,heterochromatin content and so on of every species,and compare the differences of chromosomal traits among different species.Through these,we can reveal the genetic relationship and evolutional process of living organism.We spent more than one month on collecting samples.All samples involved in this study were collected by 4 members of our group from more than 20 districts in Northeast China.In this study, these work were done as follows:Firstly,the study considering all 16 species belonging to 3 families and 12 genera of Acridoidea as materials.Squash technique and BSG method were used in the preparation of large numbers of slides for microscopical examination.After taking photos,a large number work of measurements would be done.At last,karyotypes and C-banding types,C-banding distributions and other relevant parameters of each kind of locusts were recorded.The tabulation and C-banding idiograms of all species were finished and saved.Secondly,Primnoa F.-W.is mainly distributed in Northeast Asia.And it is endemic species of Northeast China,too.In this study,karyotypes and C-banding types and other relevant parameters of 3 locusts of Primnoa were analyzed and compared.As belonging to the same genus,the similarity of 3 insects was confirmed by the results of this study.In addition,Primnoa mandshurica(Rme.) and P. ningana Ren et Zhang have same chromosomal pattern and same sex chromosome ranking.So,it can be seen that there is closer genetic relationship between Primnoa mandshurica(Rme.) and P. ningana Ren et Zhang than P.arctica Zhang et Jin.Then,depending on cluster analysis of chromosome relative length,the relationship was further confirmed.Thirdly,karyotypes and C-banding types and other relevant parameters of Zubovskia koeppeni (Zub.) and Z.planicaudata Zhang et Jin of Zubovskia Dov.Zap.were analyzed and compared. Although the two have some similarities,the data tell us that there are a significant difference at the same time.For example,they all belongs to Zubovskia Dov.Zap,but the data show that even the two species have different chromosome numbers.So,the genetic relationship of the two species is distanter than other species of Zubovskia Dov.Zap.relatively. Fourthly,karyotypes and C-banding types and other relevant parameters of Oxya intricata(Stal) and O.adentata Willemse of Oxya Serville were analyzed and compared.The results show that the two species is exactly same in many karyotypes data.Only there are some differences in the number of C-bandings and distribution.This shows that the genetic relationship between the two species is very close.Fifthly,in this study,a simple comparison was done among some genera of Catantopidae and Oedipodidae.Because the species are so few that the study can only describe incompletedly.For example,most of all 12 genera have only one species for research.And only one species can not represent one genus obviously.So the relationship among genera which is close to the truth can not be confirmed.In order to arrive at more accurate conclusions,more work needs to be done.Sixthly,3 families of Acridoidea involved in this study were analyzed and compared. Conclusions as follows:①Catantopidae:The chromosome number is mostly 2n(?)=23.The chromosome number of individual species of is 2n(?)=21.All is telocentric chromosome.The end-C-banding appears much more frequently than mid-C-banding.Among different genera,many relevant parameters of C-banding are different.②Oedipodidae:The chromosome number is steadily 2n(?)=23.Most of chromosomes is telocentric chromosome.Individual species is metacentric chromosome.All is telocentric chromosome.And not any mid-C-banding is found.The same as Catantopidae,Among different genera,many relevant parameters of C-banding are different.③Pamphagidae:The study to Haplotropis neimongolensis Yin show that the chromosome of most of species of Pamphagidae is assuredly 2n(?)=19.④From the comparison on chromosomal traits among these 3 families,there is more closer genetic relationship between Catantopidae and Oedipodidae.
