The vortex tube is the equipment which can be used to divide the compressed gas flow into a hot and a cold gas, with advantages of simple structure and steady work conditions etc,and has been widely used to separate nature gas, get rid of water from gas and refrigerate etc. In recent years,the rapid development of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is provided as a new method to investigate the complex vortex flow in the vortex tube. In this paper, give a new scheme which is to add X-type distributor and Laval tube in the vortex tube in order to change radial-flow type into axial-flow type, and simulate them with Large-eddy simulation (LES), which is the current focus in CFD.Firstly, the phenomenon of energy separation in the vortex tube was analyzed and discussed on theory in this article. Secondly, choosed the optimized structure parameters of radial-flow type vortex tube, according to this set up the corresponding physical model, used Gambit software to mesh it and simulated it with large-eddy simulation (LES);analyzed the velocity field and pressure field , and got the same conclusions with others. Thirdly, with the same structure parameters added X-type distributor in the vortex tube to change its inlet direction to axial-flow type,simulated it with large eddy simulation (LES),and got the conclusion that X-type distributor could make the gas rotate intensively;with the fixed distance d between X-type distributor and pressure inlet,the effect of rotary movement of the gas was the best whileθbetween two blades is equal to 60°,120°; with the fixedθ,it is the best while the d is equal to 20mm. Lastly,with Laval tube and X-type distributor in the vortex tube together,the effect of rotary movement of the gas was not so good.
