The changes of polarization of Gauss-Shell model are analysed in free space and turbulence , the impacts of change of polarization, the degree of polarization how to impact scintillation index and spectrum. Matlab is used to analyse the element which include the initial degree of polarization, the coherent and the spot size of light source. The simulation results show that (1)the different initial polarization beam transmit long distances in free space, the degrees of polarization are different. (2)the bigger the degree of coherence is, the faster degree of polarization alters, the wider of range alters. (3)the bigger the spot size of light source is, the more slowly the degree of polarization alters. In turbulence space, the degree of polarization of short distance is the same as the law in free space, the degree of polarization of long distance changes to the initial degree of polarization. Scintillation can be reduced by the partially coherent beams or the completely unpolarized light. Based on the Gauss-Shell blackbody radiation source, the impact of polarization of light spectrum is analysed, the changes of degree of polarization on propagation, the impact of wavelength. Through numerical analysis, the longer wavelength light beam, the faster polarization alters. The different initial polarization of beam have different spectra for long-distance transmission in free space.
