In this thesis, the basic theory of wave propagation in atmospheric turbulence and the atmospheric structure constant modes of different turbulence layers are introduced. Various factors impacting on the atmospheric structure constant are analyzed and the spectral model in statistical theory of turbulence is deduced. An analytical method of wave propagation in atmospheric turbulence is derived, which is extended from plane wave to spherical wave and Gaussian beam, laying a foundation for the study of wave propagation in atmospheric turbulence. At the same time, the scintillation index of plane wave, spherical wave and Gaussian beam are derived with the ITU-R model of the atmospheric structure constant and the modified Rytov method. Numerical analysis is performed and a comparison is made of the scintillation index of plane wave and spherical wave in microwave and optical band, respectively. Finally, based on the H-V5/7 model of the atmospheric structure constant, the variation of the light field from the emitter through the atmosphere turbulent by slant path to the receiver is analyzed and, furthermore, using the McGlamery algorithm, the stochastic phase screen of atmospheric turbulence under the Kolmogorov power spectrum is simulated. Based on the simulated phase screen and the Huygens-Fresnel principle, the McGlamery algorithm, which is mainly applied to simulate the phase screen of the plane wave, is extended to the light field simulation of Gaussian beam propagation. The influences of atmosphere turbulent channel on ground-satellite link laser communication systems are discussed.
