Also debris flow is one of disasters along highway that isn't effectively controlled and the mostly factor which damages the controlling construction and highway facilities through the debris flow valley, which affects severely construction and operation of highway. Supported by the S&T project of traffic department of Sichuan province"Study on initiation mechanisms Countermeasures of debris flows along highway in active fault zone"(No.:2006A24-582), and based on analyses of research on debris flow domestic and abroad, characteristic parameters and control of debris flows along under-construction Yalu Freeway are studied in this paper by field survey and data analysis. The main work of this paper is as follows:1 .Study on survey, exploration and experiment of debris flowAfter analyzing status and deficiency of methods of survey, the paper obtains terrain parameters of debris flow with Google-Earth and GPS, which is proved reliability. With geophysical exploration mean thickness of accumulation in debris flow is gotten and with routine experiment density and grain gradation of debris flow are obtained .2.Study on determination of characteristic parametersBased on construction of parameters system and summary of determination methods, relatively reasonable determination methods of characteristic parameters are initially established.As the key parameter , velocity is emphatically researched.As two calculation parameters of velocity, determination methods of roughness and flow depth are on study.Debris flows along under-construction Yalu Freeway are calculation examples.3.Study on Countermeasures of debris flowThis paper summarizes theory on control and technology of debris flow and points out rationality of comprehensive control.
