Recently, the surface plasmons in the subwavelength metallic structure has become to one of disquisitive focuses in the nano-optics field. The surface plasmon subbwavelength optics has been widely applied in subwavelength optics, photon storage, optical stimulating, microcropy and biology-optics and so on. As a new branch of near-field optics, surface plasmon subwavelength optics has been developed rapidly. In this thesis, the transmission characters of one-dimensional subwavelength structure fabricated on perfect metal in the terahertz wave and microwave region have been investigated experimentally and theoretically. analyzing the transmission spectrums of the subwavelength structure of perfect metal will establish the experimental and theoretical foundation for making further ideal metallic filters and other sensors. The main content of this thesis is follows:ChapterⅠsimply introduces the main content of the surface plasmon subwavelength optics and explains the physical mechanism, basic characters, and exiting methods of the surface plason polaritions in detail. Then, the basic theory of the terahertz wave is introduced. At the last, the optical character of the metal in the terahertz wave band is analyzed.ChapterⅡinvestigates the physical mechanism of a single subwavelength metallic slit interacting with the terahertz wave by using the terahertz time domain spectroscopy. The results have been explained according to the surface plasmon subwavelength optics.ChapterⅢdescribes the transmission characters of one-dimensional aperiodic subwavelength metallic structure, which has been experimentally researched in the terahertz wave band and simulated with the FDTD method. The experiment and simulation results have been analyzed. At the last, the transmission property of subwavelength metallic slit structure with different shapes has been simulated and analyzed.ChapterⅣpresents a brief conclusion of the thesis and give an expectation.
