Jiangsu is a big province with large areas of wetland. As a result of the economic development and peoples lack of knowledge of wetland resources, its present conditions are worrying. The area of wetland is becoming smaller and smaller; the quality is getting poorer and poorer; the variety of creatures is suffering being destroied and so on.. This is quite against our Continuous Development strategy. Here in this essay, the author analyzes the significance of wetland protecting in different ways. He thinks that it is necessary and possible to draft some certain acts on wetland protecting and he makes some suggestions about the basic frame of it. And all the above is based on the present conditions and problems of wetland in the whole China as well as in Jiangsu Province. The author hopes that this can be a reference while the local government are making laws of wetland.
