Basic properties, optophysical properties, optoelectronic properties, liquid crystal properties of a conjugated polymer, poly(p-phenylene benzobisoxazole) (PBO), are reviewed. The applications of nano-technology and ion-injection are also reviewed. This material has strongly delocalised π electrons in chemical structure and excellent optical and electronic properties. This paper first summaries the researches on its photophysical, optoelectronic, liquid crystalline properties as well as the modification with nano-composites. Along with its inherent mechanical toughness and robustness, resistance to high temperature and humidity, excellent thermo-oxidative stabilities, PBO has become increasingly important in many applications and industries. This paper is focused on the Optoelectronic properties of PBO via spectra technology, electrochemical circle volt-ampere method and analysis of I-V cueve. The details of the main work are:(1) Luminescence properties of PBO solution and solid film were mearsured by UV spectra and fluorescence spectra and were discussed;(2) Through electrochemical circle volt-ampere method and calculation of PBO absorption spactra ,the HOMO/LUMO were got. That is very important parameter to study the structure of the inside energy level;(3) Single-layer and double-layer devices were made. The electrolumines spectra and I-V curve were measured. The parameters that were got from the experiments were caculated to get the minimum charge carrier mobility. The luminescence mechanism of the device was also analysed. |
