Usb Host Applied Research In The Logging Tool

The traditional well logging instrument is limited by the capacity of data storage and transport data to computer by RS232 BUS in well logging technology. But the work of well logging is always out of the door and the acquisition data is so large, so the method to the data storage of the traditional well logging instrument couldn't realize the requirement of produce development. In order to resolve the problem, this paper designs the embedded USB HOST storage module which consists of SL811HS and 196 monolithic processor to store data. This embedded storage module is based on the Mass Storage Class Bulk-Only Transport protocol and FAT16 File System. So the embedded storage module could transport data to the common Flash Storage Device and configure it.This paper introduces the whole phase of developing the embedded USB HOST storage module,including studying USB1.1 protocol;designing hardware and software of the embedded USB HOST storage module. In the research of the USB1.1 protocol,this paper focus on the host part of USB protocol and USB Mass Storage Class protocol. In the hardware part,this paper introduces the design process of the USB HOST storage module and analyse the key parts for the detail. AH design process is according to the transmission flow of the data and signal. This paper also designs the data buffer to make the data aqusite process and data storage process have the same timing sequence. In the software part,the design method is from the bottom to the top. The sequence is hardware layer,low level drive layer,custom software layer and high level data view software layer. This manner make the system more logical and more transportable. The low level drive includes the host part of USB1.1 protocol, USB Mass Storage Class protocol and FAT16 file system protocol. So this part is very important in the whole design.Compared with the traditional data storage method, the application of the USB HOST technology will improve the convenience of the well logging instrument and make data storage easy. The application shows that the module runs stably and could store data correctly. The technology and methods are practical and worthy of using in other fields.
