Mueller matrix is a good ways to describe the backscattered property of turbid media. It has been a hot spot in basic study of tissue optics because of its important application to the technology of noninvasive optical diagnosis of biological tissue and other fields. At the base of researching to much information of Mueller matrix, in this thesis, we investigated the properties of the state of polarization of scattered light from turbid media through both mathematical simulation and experimental method. One the one hand, we introduce the direct Monte Carlo simulation method to the backscattered Mueller matrix of turbid media.. The method of direct simulation can not only reduce the computational quantities but also perfectly show the physical meaning of Mueller matrix. On the other hand, we contrived a new experimental device which properties are oblique incidence and perpendicular detecting and a set of formularies of data processing. The results are even better than other group's. It shows that our experimental device has many advantages(more simple , more convenient and more exact). By the experimental device and processing method, we get many patterns of the backscattered Mueller matrix at the different angle of incidence. By analyzing the patterns , we can draw following conclusions: Mueller matrix is relate to angle of incidence. The pattern of backscattered Mueller matrix of small angle of incidence (<15°) is almost the samw as its of perpendicular incidence. But its symmetry will become worse and worse as angle of incidence added. The patterns from experiments show good agreement with not only the simulation results by us but also outcomes by other groups' s. Moreover, with the experimental device and processing method we also can get Mueller matrix from smaller scatterin particle. At the base of our receiving outcomes, we can do more researchs about the properties of the state of polarization of scattered light from true biological tissues.
