The seismic survey is the most effective prospecting geophysical method duringexploration and development of oil/gas. The structure and the lithology of thegeological body become increasingly complex now. So it must assure that the seismicsection own upper resolution if we need accurately describe the targets. High S/N isthe precondition of high resolution. For the sake of improving S/N, we put forward anew method F-X domain prediction filtering in common offset gathers for noiseelimination using prediction filtering in F-X domain.Seismic data can be transform to different domain , include seismic set domain andmathematic domain, for different purpose and different phase. Signals has differentfeatures in different domain, and so do the noises. So we can transform the signals todifferent domain and take some effective method to deal with its, to separate thesignals and noises. Thus we can avoid negative effect produced by using singlemethod.In view of the fact that seismic data in F-X domain are predictable in x direction,and noise is unpredictable. Signal and noise can be separated. Base on the study of thesignals' features in common offset gather seismic data, we find that it change veryplacid. Thus we think that F-X domain prediction filtering in common offset gathersis superior than others.Theoretical modeling and real data processing results indicate that F-X domainprediction noise elimination in common offset gathers is a very effective technique forelimination random noises in seismic data.
