Land Use/Cover Change (LUCC) is thought as the important component causingglobal change. Based on current technology, LUCC research is supported by functionsof remote sense software, geographical information system (GIS) software andmodeling software and it is also achieved by secondary development of GIS software.The author presents the way of functions of integration required by a particular LUCCresearch, namely developing LUCC integrated analysis system in visual windowsprogrammed environment. Taking LUCC research in Minhang as an example, theauthor develops the LUCC integrated analysis system on research LUCC in Minhangunder the Delphi 7.0 visual environment.The author designs the system as a whole, based on the characteristics ofcomponent technology. The system is designed as a tool software on the basis ofRaster data structure. It has a great advantage in the expansion of functions. Thesystem makes use of Multiple Document Interface. The main menus are based onMap Algebra. Functions are integrated in the menus, which are of strong flexibility.The system accomplishes the following functions, such as import and output ofBMP and CMF documents, enhancement of remote sense image, computation ofLUCC datum and building regressive model. Due to limited time, the author usesErdas Imagine software to classify remote sense image. During the classification,multiple steps method is adopted.Minhang is one of the fastest urbanization districts in Shanghai. LUCC researchin Minhang is representative. The author carries out an initial research on landuse/cover change in Minhang, based on functions of the system.
