Rotating Packed Bed Micro-mixed Mathematical Model And Its Calculation

In this dissertation, the micro-mixing between tiny liquid elements in RPB is discussed. A new mathematical model is built based on the laminar flow model and coalescence and redispersion model. Taking the competitive and consecutitive azobenzene reaction between 1-naphthol and diazotised sulphanilic acid as an example calculated segregation index. This paper has laid a foundation for RPB's being a reactor for liquid-liquid, and is expected to predict results of reaction or gulde experimentation and manufacture.Models for micro-mixing are compared, laminar flow model is selected as the reaction model of every tiny liquid element in this case. The equations are resulted under the floating coordinate because non-dimension velocity is too high. Reaction at two different velocities was computed and the concentration distributing is given.It's a complicated and a high workload calculation if all the factors are considered because the shape and behavior of the liquid element is so various. So a mathematical model is built by introducing two parameters to link microcosm and macroscale while laminar flow model is still the reaction model of microcosmic reaction. Segregation index of calculation is consistent with experimental data under different volumetric ratio and rotating speed. And the influence of the two parameters is discussed.While the discontinuousness of liquids in RPB is considered, calculation is much more reduced by classifying liquid elements and averaging concentration in this mathematical model. This model also avoids the difficulty of labeling in Monte Carlo method.At last, the author thinks that it is important to strengthen the basic research of RPB, further comprehending the liquid flow in RPB. Only so can the model be more mature and applicable.
