3D optical shape measurement has already on the leading position of the information optics research. It has a wide application in the fields of automation process, machine vision, CAD/CAM/CAE, medicine and so on. However it is an important and difficult task to develop a technology which can measure a three-dimensional object's surface quickly and exactly. A method, which is called face-structure grating projection, is proposed in this paper for further study and discuss. This method can measure the surface of 3D object rapidly and nicely, further more, it has some advantages such as: non-contact measured process, high measure speed, high resolving ability of data space, little cost and so on. Using the characteristic of facing -object to carry out system software, make the maintenance and expansion of the software become very easy. The main research work in this thesis included:1.The principle of the so-called face-structure grating projection method is analyzed and its deficiency in practical application is discussed. The fundamental mathematics model of this method is deduced. Then a compensation strategy is developed.2.According to the fact of low resolving ability in the direction traversed the grating stripes, a method by moving object to obtain higher resolving is proposed in practical use and a satisfied result is obtained.3.In order to enhance the height measurement ability, color-coding grating for extending the periods of the grating is adopted.4.Technology for the rebuilding the three-dimensional solid model from the 3D points data gained from this measure system is demonstrated, combined with the support of the commercial software and a novel montage method developed in our research.5.On the Visual C++6.0 exploitation platform, the visible curve surface-splicing work based on STL file is also realized, the primary system software is built by using facing-object modularization mode.The main innovation work in this paper can be concluded as follows: making use of moving object method to improve the resolving power; using color-coding grating to project, regard several different-color neighboring stripe as a period, thus to increase the height measuring ability of the system; implying the method of three-point sign combined with the fashion of man-computer alternation to accomplish the rapid curve surface-splicing work.
