Thematic Map Visualization Symbols Automatically Generated

With the quick development of computer map-making, remote sensing map-making, Global Position System and Generalized Information System, Basical transformation has happened in the respect of the information source and information achieving mode, method of storing and searching, analyzing map-making, ultimate visualization product form. This shows that map and remote sensing, GIS will develop together in the information era and visualization of map will construct a bridge between map, remote sensing and the GIS.With the deep application of the GIS, the symbol of map in the software of the GIS can not satisfy the user's needs either in amount, convenience of choice or in the course of visualization during the thematic map-making. That needs us develop more thematic symbol of thematic map.This paper has finished the following tasks on the basis of modern cartology, computer science, computer graphics, topography and so on various advanced theory achievements.(1) Summaring and analyzing the type, characteristics, and indication methods of geography information in the visualization of map course, scientific computing visualization and its application in GIS, the realization forms and tools of Generalized Information, the application of vision taking theory in Generalized Information Visualization ,the application of chromatics theory in Generalized Information Visualization.(2) To integrating some theory on computer graphics, the author illustrates the basic theory and method of 3D land forms visualization in maps including the realization course of 3D land forms and the clairvoyance transformation, vanishing, pruning, clairvoyance, illumination mode, figure protracting and so on about the theory of computer graphics.(3) The author also illustrates the symbol of thematic map on the theory about symbolic constitution elements, the method of the choice of the symbolic constitution elements in designing the symbol of thematic map, the basis principle of designing thesymbol of thematic map, the elementary stages of designing the symbol of thematic map etc, through analyzing all kinds of theory about symbol of map and combining the theory on symbol of thematic map and present achievement.(4) On the basis of the theory and method of OOA and OOD, taking the advantage the method of objected-oriented program, according to the above illustration in task 3, the author proposed the systematical constitution of symbol of thematic map. In which some functions have been realized.This paper try to inaugurate the following facet.(1) Through analyzing all kinds of theory about symbol of map and combining the theory on symbol of thematic map and present achievement, the author proposed the systematical constitution of symbol of thematic map.(2) The author proposed thought of choice of visualization choice of symbol of thematic map, on the basis of facet 1.
