This thesis is based on the course of modern physics experiments. In this thesis, we analyze deeply various teaching models of modern physics experiments. On this basis, a series-teaching model that suits the conditions of Shanghai Teachers University is brought forward and carried out. The thesis consists of four parts.In the first part, we analyze the station and function of physics experiments. This part begins with the depiction of the relation between experiments and physics in history. Then the role of experiments in the physics teaching is discussed. Finally we expound the important function that physics experiments teaching performs in the training of creative talents.The second part surveys into the reform of modern physics experiments. The modern physics experiments' station and function are discussed, and the teaching characteristics of foreign and Hong Kong's Universities are analyzed. Moreover, we investigate the conditions of physics experiment education in some universities of our country and sums up several various teaching models of them. Furthermore, advantages and disadvantages of these teaching models are discussed in this part.In the third part, we put forward some thoughts on the reform of modern physics experiments teaching. We first study several teaching theories on modern physics experiments, and next we present the requests of the new era to science teaching and physics teaching. In the last, we probe into some practical issues, such as "windows" and "connection", "deepness" and "width", "experiments teaching" and "scientific research" etc, and give some new opinions on these topics. On the basis of the first three parts, the fourth part brings forward the teaching reform of modern physics experiments in Shanghai Teachers University. According to our teaching practice, we expound the thinking, the methods and the tentative results of this teaching reform. Especially, some suggestions for further advancing the series-teaching model of Shanghai Teachers University are made in this part.
