Coplanar waveguide(CPW) which is originated from microstrip is an important planar transmission of microwave. With the development of the microwave and millimeter-wave integrated circuit, especially monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) and optical integrated circuit, there is a great interest in CPW in recent years. Compared with conventional micorstrip, CPW offers more obvious advantages and so is widely used in microwave integrated circuit and optical integrated circuit. Most of recent researches are concentrating on symmetric CPW. However, it's difficult to get the symmetric CPW because of the imperfection of the fabrication. Actually, asymmetric CPW facilitate the connection of the devices on microwave circuit compared with symmetric CPW. Furthermore, symmetric CPW can be considered as special cases of asymmetric CPW. So, researching in asymmetric CPW is of universality. Now many CPW' s revised structures have been brought forward and each one has it's own CAD model. It's easy to set up a CPW CAD software pack If we bring forward a uniform CPW model according to all kinds of CPW structures. This paper puts forward CPW structures and analyses their characteristic parameters. At this foundation, this paper brings forward asymmetric upper-low shielded coplanar waveguide structure and figures out it's resolved resolution. We can set up a uniform CPW' s simulation software pack at this foundation...
