In this paper, the elementary tectonic unit of Qinghai--Tibet plateau is explained byreviewing briefly the research result of Qinghai--Tibet plateau in recent years. The Qinghai-Tibet plateau can be divided into six terranes caused by five suture zone and began to exist from north to south. The uplifting of plateau didn't produce until the end of Eocene. The uplifting is differential according to the stage with crust shortening and thickening and material east-flowing. For this deformation dynamic mechanisms there have been several opinions because of the shortage of information. This paper gets the morden deformation by using the data of GPS technology and analyzes the deformation dynamic mechanisms further more by combining the geology and the physics of geology.Research result shows: I. The GPS data display the tendency of northen of plateau: From south to north, the northward branch becomes small and the ratio between eastward and northward becomes big. From west to east, the eastward becomes big. 2. The formation dynamic mechanisms is very complicated.The uplifting and thickening of crust are the result of various causes. But the main reason is the plate subduction which is the basic cause to have the gravitation, thermo-dome and stretching force become useage.
