Role In Regulating Plant Growth And Development, The Light Quality

In this experiment, tomato and eggplant were used as materials. We investigated the effect of supplemental light and red light on plant whice included the days of seeding, output, photosynthesize pigment and the activity of four kind of enzymes: aldehyde oxidase (ALD), indole acetic acid peroxidase (IAAPOD), indole acetic acid oxidase (JAAOXD) and peroxidase (POD). The results showed that the effect of different light quality on plant were different due to not only the distinct spectrum, but also the different variety of plants. Red light can ahead the days of seeding, and can increase the output of tomato and eggplant. It inhibit the height of tomato, and on the contrary, it can promote the height of eggplant. Besides photosynthesis, the activities of those four kind of enzymes cause these phenomena. The effects of light on these enzymes were different.
