The distribution and changes of total ozone column (TOC) at various temporal and spatial scale in both globe and Aisa (60°-160°E,0°-40°N) are investigated based on mesasurements by Nimbus 7-TOMS (Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer),Meteor 3-TOMS,Earth Probe-TOMS,AURA-OMI (Ozone Monitor Instrument) in almost latest 30 years (1978 to 2010). The purpose of this paper is to update the knowledge about the variety of TOC in global climate change based on the previous studies by using longer-term data with higher spatial resolution. Results indicate that global mean total column ozone values from 1979 to the end of last century is decreasing, while the after-1997 values and especially the after-2005 values, is no longer decreasing.The monthly mean of TOC (2004-2010) in various latitudes are studied by using AURA-OMI (2004-2010) TOC data. Results indicate that lager ozone variations have been observed over the Northern Hemisphere (NH) than that over the Southern Hemisphere (SH). During the winter- and springtime, low ozone values is observed over the tropics, high ozone values is observed over high latitudes NH, where strong ozone maxima (about 420 DU) occurred in springtime. During the summer- and autumn time, strong ozone maxima is observed over middle and high latitudes SH.Using Western North Pacific Best Track Data from the US Department of Defense's Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC), we analyzed the changes of TOC over the typhoon region of Typhoon Haitang (0505) and Typhoon Nesat (0504) as case studies. Results indicate that the negative total ozone anomalies were observed over the typhoon region. From development to intensification stage, typhoon PDI (Power Dissipation Index) have brought out clearly the impact of variations of total ozone anomalies with hysteresis and negative correlation.
