From November 2009 to January 2010 and March to April 2010, I did some systematical study about red fox's habitat choice in Da Lai lake national nature reserve of Inner Mongolia. In this experiment I used transect lines to do some investigations of the study area, and obtained total of 144 compared quadrats and 101 observation quadrats. Useing the principal component analysis, correlation analysis, Bailey's methods and 3S technology to process the obtained data, I can draw the following conclusions:1.Results from analysis of red fox habitat principal components factors:1st principal component load factor is the absolute value of the larger food abundance, vegetation type and cover class, characterized absolute values ofλis 0.928,0.924 and 0.835, the three variables reflect the food and habitat Hidden are very important choices. Therefore, food and concealment habitat selection is the key factor for the red fox. The larger absolute value of load factor in the first two principal components is the distance from human activity, and its characterized absolute values ofλis 0.704. This reflects the red fox do not only leave grazing sites of human, but also by the close. The larger absolute value of 3rd principal component load factor is the distance from the fence, and its a characterized absolute values ofλis 0.8787, indicating that the red fox has also selected and used the fence. On snow depth and water the red fox do not show the selection and use.2. Each habitat use and selection of the red foxUsed The Bailey's method, I evaluated that the red fox preference reed pond and willow scrub habitat, Select the typical steppe meadow steppe and Loop. Randomly. Avoid choosing the ice ground and sandy ground. We can concluded through the statistical data that although it is random of red fox's choosing typical steppe meadow steppe and course of river, but the use of typical steppe and the river more than the meadow steppe, so in the map of distribution of habitat suitability In the following, the typical steppe and course of river are divided into more suitable habitat, meadow steppe is divided into general suitability habitat.3.The correlation analysis between red fox's habitat and habitats factorThe probability of correlation analysis are all 0.000 among food abundance, the degree of hiding cover, the distance to human activities and the distance to water resource. It is Indicated that under the conditions of a significant level of 0.01. It is positive correlation between the 4 habitats factor and the emergence of red fox habitat. The probability of the snow depth as a habitats factor is 0.018/0.016, under the conditions of significance level 0.05 also showed correlation. The probability of distance from the fence as a habitats factor is 0.470/0.468,did not showed correlation with the emergence of red fox habitat. We can see from the correlation coefficient of this indicator that the correlation between food abundance and the red fox habitat selection. The Coefficient is 0.848. This indicates that food abundance play an important role in the red fox habitat selection. It also shows that the red fox habitat is high food abundance, followed by the hidden level and the distance from human activities. Although a positive correlation among the other three factors, due to low correlation coefficient, it does not work in habitat selection.4. Landscape characteristic analysis of the habitat of the red foxOn the basis of GIS graphic processing and conversion, I used fragstats software to analyze the landscape feature and got the following conclusion:volume from patches, the most suitable patches'quantity are 154, the suitable patches'are 128 and the general suitable patches'are 108. In order to better use the red fox to protect the grassland, the most appropriate patches' number appear inadequate, We must improve the most suitable patches'quantity and reduce the build-up of more suitable and general appropriate patches'quantity; Judging from the average area of plaques, the average area of most suitable patch for red fox is moderate and others are too big; Judging from the average form factor, the general appropriate plaques are high and the most suitable and suitable plaques are moderate. These form factors reflect the three plaques are beneficial to the red fox's survive. Judging from an average of recent distance, the average nearest distance of the most suitable, suitable and general appropriate patches are small. This reflects the three types of plaques are reunion shape distribution, and it is not good for the red fox opens wide for the protection of the whole reserve grassland. Therefore we need to change the use of the grass court to change the distribution of various plaques, thus forming favorable mosaic distribution. Because the unsuited habitat is mainly water and desertification grass, so we didn't research and discuss that.
