Based on Geographic information systems (GIS), this paper studied the spatial distribution of the simulation of climatic factors (sunshine hours, solar radiation, temperature, rainfall) in Yunnan Honghe area using DEM and meteorological data based on site conventional observation data, and a case of suitability evaluate for Trachycarpus fortunei in Honghe coutry was carried out for the application research. Main results are as follows:(1) According to the characteristics of DEM and the ways of establishment, the DEM in Honghe area have build on; extracted through the DEM slope and aspect are two important topographic factors, slope and aspect are the basis of climate modeling topography.(2) By calculating the sun track, the sun altitude angle and solar azimuth at different times in different was obtained, and combines slope and aspect characteristics of terrain using ARCGIS software calculated and simulation the sun exposure hours, and calculated sunshine hours according to percentage of sunshine; base on computer technology, maped the various months of the Honghe sun sunshine hours map. Simulation results show that the number of sunshine hours in Honghe topographical differences are significant, the main rule is sunshine hours is small in valley, large in ridge, small in shady slope, large in sunny slope.(3) Base on calculating the total amount of solar radiation and sunshine hours simulation, calculated the sun at different times of the direct radiation and scattering situation, combinning with slope, aspect of the terrain factors influence, simulated each month the amount of solar radiation on the distribution, and finally calculated the amount of solar radiation throughout the year; drawn Honghe each month of the amount of the distribution of solar radiation distribution day. Simulation results show that the distribution of radiation Honghe also show marked differences in topography, the law is large in the southern slope, small in north slope.(4) Base on Honghe air temperature and rainfall data from meteorological observation stations in recent years, the spline function interpolation method were used for the existing average annual temperature, minimum temperature and annual rainfall interpolating, using the multiple regression equation by adding terrain factors, the sun Radiation factors established the multiple regression equation of temperature and rainfall, obtained the temperature and rainfall simulation model, and lastly using spline interpolation, interpolated the residuals which have not been explained, and plused with the simulation model results, end up with temperature and rainfall in simulation results; drawn Honghe annual average temperature distribution maps, minimum temperature and annual rainfall distribution map. Studies have shown that the distribution of temperature and rainfall in Honghe have obvious differences in topography, the temperature gradually reduced with the increase in elevation, sunny slope temperatures were higher than the temperatures of the north slope, rainfall was increasing trend from northeast to southwest, elevation is also on rainfall volume greatly affected.(5) Using acquired Honghe's sunshine hours, solar radiation, air temperature, rainfall spatial distribution of the results of climatic factors, combined with elevation data such as elevation and slope, established an experimental plots palm suitability evaluation factor database. And based on certain indicators, scoring and classification, obtained palm suitability assessment grades the spatial distribution map, and compared the palm-growing areas with existing data. The results show that the distribution of evaluation results Honghe palm cultivation is reasonable, and its law:desirability of the west and the eastern to the central gradually reduced; the most suitable areas and suitable areas are mainly distributed in the eastern and western regions better natural conditions, elevation of the central region higher, mainly for general comfort zone.In this study the results of simulations of climate factors can be carried out thematic analysis, which has strong practicability, can provide an important resources base for complex terrain of the area climatic resources survey, precision agriculture, agricultural zoning, and ecological environment construction. Not only a lot of fieldwork can save, but also the efficiency and quality can improve.
