A Study On The Organizational Structural Reform Of Growing Small And Medium-sized Entreprises Based On Diversified Development Strategy

Small and medium-sized enterprises, which strive to diversified development, will usually face a series of problems that obstacle their development during their growth. Among these problems, the problem caused by the enterprise's organization structure is often ignored in the research field. This thesis takes Company U as an example to explore the supporting effects of organization structural reform on growing small and medium-sized enterprises' diversification strategy.Aiming at this research target, this thesis firstly analyzes related theories. Based on the life cycle theory, it analyzes the enterprise's resources during the particular phases. Then with reference to the diversification strategy theory, the organization structure theory, the path-goal theory, the contingency theory and other management theories, this thesis constructs and analyzes enterprise's appropriate organization structures in life cycle phases. It defines enterprise's organization structures along its major life cycle respectively as'simple line and functional structure','professional line and functional structure','divisional structure independent on supporting center','subsidiary and division mixed structure', and'holding company structure'. Accordingly, suggestions are given to Company U to adopt the'divisional structure independent on supporting center'and the'critical position back-up system'simultaneously, in order to provide a strong support to Company U's diversified development strategy.The key research results of this thesis is the organizational restructuring. This thesis's research results provide practical reference to Company U's organization reconstruction, and also provides reference to many growing small and medium-sized enterprises' organization reconstruction and realization of their diversified development strategy.
